- Cohesive, high-performing teams are the building block of every aspect of our organization.
- Build and strengthen teams through common purpose and shared challenges.
- Willingly endure necessary hardship or discomfort for the benefit of the team without complaint.
The 2024 College Football National Champions, The Ohio State Buckeyes, exemplify commitment, resilience, and teamwork. During high-pressure games, the Buckeyes’ mental toughness and unity shine, showcasing how each player’s contributions are vital to success. They clearly have a common objective, strong communication skills, and mutual trust. This foundation allows team members to excel under pressure. Each player understands their role and responsibilities, much like Airmen, Soldiers, and Civilians who rely on one another to accomplish the mission. The Buckeyes’ disciplined preparation and strategic execution mirror the importance of teamwork and adaptability in overcoming challenges. Just as the OHNG team must collaborate effectively, the Buckeyes coordinate their efforts on the field, responding to challenges to secure championship wins. This level of commitment leads to VICTORY in sports and more importantly, when serving our communities, state, and Nation.
As we continue to strive for excellence within the Ohio National Guard, it is essential to emphasize our commitment to being cohesive, high-performing teams. Our success depends on relentless training, a common purpose, and the commitment to face challenges together. Each of us plays a vital role in accomplishing the mission of the Ohio National Guard. By embracing goals and enduring necessary hardships for the benefit of our organization, we reinforce our bonds and demonstrate true dedication to the mission.
In our volatile security environment, threats and missions are everchanging and difficult to predict. However, the reliance upon the team is constant. Building strong, cohesive and disciplined teams will ensure we are always ready to deliver what our state and nation need from us.
This week reflect and discuss with your team how the following relate to your daily interactions:
- How do you feel about collaborating with your teammates, and what steps do you take to ensure open communication?
- How have you actively contributed to the team’s goal and success in the past month?
- Do I relentlessly strive to “Win the Day” despite obstacles?
- Have I shown that I am honest and trustworthy?
