Brigadier General Matthew S. Woodruff / Assistant Adjutant General for Army ~ WATCH LEADERSHIP VIDEO ON YouTube
- Train/work with purpose.
- Be completely accountable for your actions and decisions without blaming or crediting external factors.
- Assume the buck stops with you.
- Own your area – and be the absolute best at it!
In the Ohio National Guard, owning your area of responsibility means taking full accountability for your mission and ensuring excellence in every task. Soldiers, Airmen, Civilians - ALL team members must develop a deep understanding of their roles, continuously seek knowledge, and refine their skills. By fostering teamwork, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating initiative, each team member contributes to the overall effectiveness of their unit or organization. Ultimately, striving to be the best in one’s area not only enhances personal growth but also strengthens the entire force.
Our role as Citizen-Soldiers, Citizen-Airmen, and Civilians underscores our vital contributions to the community, especially during challenging times. We ensure the safety and well-being of those we serve, often making personal sacrifices in the process. This dedication demands a commitment to accountability, embodying the principle that the “buck stops with me!” By taking ownership of our responsibilities, we not only uphold the values of our military service but also strengthen the bonds within our communities, fostering resilience and support.
