  • Winning matters!
  • Ours is a “no fail” profession.
  • Work to the full limits of your authority to ensure the mission is completed.
  • Never quit, accept failure or a substandard result.
  • Assume there is always a path to mission accomplishment – find it, and execute.

Being a champion is more than just a title: it’s a mindset rooted in discipline and resilience. As soldiers, airmen and civilians in the Ohio National Guard, we embrace a “no fail” mission, where winning truly matters. Each decision we make should reflect our core values, with a focus on achieving success DAILY. We are committed to excellence, loyalty, duty respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage – regardless of the obstacles we face. Champions don’t simply rise to the occasion; they prepare, fight and lead with purpose by living the core values.

In 1776, George Washington, a true champion in American military history, exemplified this spirit. Despite early defeats, his resolve and strategic decisions were crucial in maintaining the morale of the Continental Army. With the support of ordinary citizens, he turned the tide of the war, led he Continental Army to victory, helped draft the U.S. Constitution and served as our first President. His leadership in the face of extreme challenges exemplifies what it means to win the day and win the war!

I encourage each of you to reflect on what it means to Be a Champion ~ Win the Day in your daily responsibilities. Ask yourself what makes YOU a Champion and did YOU Win the Day?

Let’s embody this warrior mindset and push each other to be our best. Together, we will continue to do great things!
