Ashley Anderson (right) of the Missouri National Guard approach the steepest point in the Chief, National Guard Bureau Biathlon Championships course Feb. 25, 2018, at Soldier Hollow, Utah. Aptly named “The Wall,” the high elevation and rugged conditions are challenging the biathletes throughout this year’s competition.

The Utah National Guard hosted the 2018 Chief, National Guard Bureau Biathlon Championships Feb. 24-March 1 at Utah’s own Soldier Hollow. The high elevation and rugged conditions at Solider Hollow — including the steepest point in the course, aptly named “The Wall” — were challenging the biathletes throughout this year’s competition, which was the first time the event was held in the Beehive State.
